 rule i.  The Golden Rule. I value open communication, honesty, and kindness. Do not attempt to guilt-trip, manipulate, or any other drama-mongering tactics. If I feel any of this is happening, I will not hesitate to sever the connection ICly and OOCly. rule ii.  I am forty years old with a full time job; I have a life outside of FFXIV and outside of roleplay. I can not and will not roleplay with you (or anyone) constantly. Respect my time; I respect yours! Please also let me know if there are any sensitive subjects you would like to avoid or write about together in the future. I am always open for these types of discussions. rule iii.  I am not my character; my character is not me. Do not conflate the two. Also, I do not tolerate racism, sexism, or ableism in any form. I understand nuance for hard topics exists in the role-play space, but blatant bigoted/hateful talk will find you blocked.

 rule iv.  l will not role-play with any player under 21 years of age. I will not role-play with any character ICly under 21 years of age. It makes me uncomfortable. In fact, I would much prefer my more long term RP partners to be in their mid to late 20's and older. rule v.  I prefer the type of roleplay partner that is willing to chat about things OOCly and be casual friends outside of our stories together. I've found over the years that my role-play is much more enjoyable this way. If you're not open to this, then you may want to seek another writer that is more in line with your style. rule vi.  Kaede has a handful of potential content warnings to their story, such as: manipulation, forced servitude, physical/emotional abuse, and other triggers associated with cruel individuals. kaede themself is also a liar, thief, can be violent, and has major trust issues. use your discretion.

 about  kaede mistbloom is a kitsune, a shapeshifter, a magical being of the Far East. They can take many forms, but they do tend to favour appearing as a masculine viera for when they are being "themselves" in civilized society, though sometimes they opt to be feminine instead. whatever best suits the mood. while they are not exactly heroic, kind-hearted, or altruistic, kaede is affable and somewhat flamboyant most of the time. easy to talk to and willing to listen. (to what ends?)

 skills & talents 
specializing in elemental and illusionary magics, kaede weaves both simple and elaborate spells which vary considerably upon what they need in a situation. kaede's greatest strength is their adaptability, and their magical aptitude borne over time reflects that. they're an opportunist--or in other words: they can and will fight dirty. tricks and lies, mirages and truth all can be wielded against their enemy in an effort to confuse them into defeat. when it comes to raw magic, fire is their preferred element, but they all have their purpose and place.

kaede loves food. they love food (seemingly) more than anything else in the world. therefore, much of their time is thinking about their next meal, trying a new snack, or indulging their sweet tooth. when not on assignment or aloof, chances are kaede can be found sniffing out restaurants, sitting at a bar, or walking along a city road double fisting street-vendor treats. if you're a chef, be prepared for requests!

 shapeshifter & Onmyōji for hire 
over the last ten cycles or so, many across etheirys have been mistreated, duped, robbed, or utterly made the fool by kaede mistbloom. fortunately, their disguises and combat talents are top notch, so the majority have no idea what they actually look like. still, if contact can be made with kaede's "master" they can be hired for almost any type of job, so long as it's worthy of such a powerful asset.

those with knowledge or origins in yanxia, nagxia, hingashi or even dalmasca could know of Kaede, if not directly then indirectly from tales or folklore. along with this, Kaede could also be a target for a hunter on a trail, especially one specializing in "demons" or other spiritual denizens of the far eastern continent and islands. please contact me for more details about this route.
